THE SPOKEN WORD ARTISTE WHO BODIED ED' SHEERANS BEAT
In early 2018 Nigerias Spoken Word Champion Wayne Samuel dropped a wallop of a piece in 'Ready Set Go' ( https://goo.gl/N2yfEh ) where he treated the pitfalls of having great vision without heart. The poets punchlines laced upon The Weeknd's 'Wicked Games' instrumental had an almost narcotic effect.
Now a week to Valentine the artist has turned his attention
to the ladies, with his resplendent 'Shape of You' which borrows its title and samples
its soundtrack from Ed Sheerans smash hit of the same name.
The poet admits to his own helpless romantic Achilles heel,
as he narrates the tale of how he runs into a girl whose heart hasn't been in
her circle lately. The heroine in this tale ditches her friends and boyfriend
and stumbles upon the poet, who takes no time in shooting his shot.
However there's a twist, Wayne understands that his feelings
for the heroine are built upon the fact that the girl is 'fly as a kite shaped
like the figure eight' , and that from a moralistic point of view, such affection
is 'not what God configurat-ed'. Every pun and metaphor here isn't for show,
its for meaning and impact..but let's not reveal all of the plot, download the
